Uber’s CEO, Travis Kalanick, is stepping down from Donald Trump’s economic advisory council. Kalanick’s “joining the advisory council was not meant to be an endorsement of the president or his agenda but unfortunately it has been misinterpreted to be exactly that.”
Out of the roughly two million users on the Android phone, over 200,000 have deleted the application. This 10% cut in customer base was enough to get the company thinking about its next steps, starting with Kalanick removing himself from the advisory council. They also have to worry about #GrabYourWallet, another campaign started to avoid doing business with any company associated with Trump.
Guess what? Lyft is associated with Trump. Investors Peter Thiel and Carl Icahn are both supporters of Trump and have invested into a big portion of Lyft.
