DeVos Refused Entry to School

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ trip to Jefferson Middle School in Washington, DC was denied earlier today. A group of protestors, mainly angry parents, were not happy with her agenda and refused to allow her through. DeVos’ position was confirmed last week by Vice President Pence, going against what many educators have voted for. She is seen as the least qualified cabinet appointee, having a minute amount of experience in the education system.

Critics such as Bernie Sanders have questioned her on simple matters. She couldn’t answer them, such as using test scores to measure proficiency or growth.

She was questioned by many educators on the stances she takes “Keep giving money to senators and buying your way to the position,” one protester said in the video. “You should be so proud of yourself.”

DeVos’ response: “I have decided to stop taking offense at the suggestion that we are buying influence. I simply concede the point. They are right. We do expect something in return. We expect to foster a conservative governing philosophy consisting of limited government and respect for traditional American virtues. We expect a return on our investment.”
