Fab Melo was a basketball star at Syracuse University, and picked in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft to the Celtics. Since then, he has stopped playing for the NBA and moved back home to his mom and two sisters in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. He has found a team in the National Basquette Brazil.
Earlier this weekend, he was found dead, and reports say he died in his sleep, possibly from a heart attack. Syracuse, Celtics, and the NBA have yet to publish an official reason for his death.
Statistically, professional basketball players are more at risk for a heart attack. About 1 in 11,000 college basketball athletes suffer from it.
